Check the CDI web site for the correct wireing of the stator for your motor. They have very good Testing and wireing instructions on there. Most usally the extra wires are to be insulated and stored where they will not ground out. On the larger 6 cyclender motors there is usually 2 swithcboxes and the extra wires are ment for that switchbox. If those wires were wired to the mounting screws for the coil pack, as they look like in the photo, The the electricy being made by the stator is going to the engine ground and all the other electrical parts that do have to go to ground. Thus things get fried. JMO
