70Hp power pack?????????????

Hi,
i have an 82 evinrude 70hp and it seems to be getting a short life out of the power packs? the first one went so i got and aftermarket one after about a year it went bad the engine woudl start but it woudlnt shut off. i bought another aftermarket one and it fixed the engine shutting off but after a year it went bad (no spark). can someoen please tell me why there so short. what can i expect from an oem power pack?

corroded, loose connection, and worn battery cables, corroding on the inside, will cut the packs life.
