By looking at these pictures, can someone tell me what years this tilt assembly will work on? The guy I got it from says it will work on my 77, but I cant really find any pictures online to confirm this.

Thanks!!

It looks like it would fit. Check the transom brackets on your engine to see if they are identical to yours.

Isn't there a big difference between the 77 and down 70hp and the 78 and up?

That is only the TILT unit ----Not trim and tilt------Find that assembly in the accessories parts pages online.

So find it in the accessories parts pages and identify where it can be used.

Not finding anything within the parts pages that help me know what exact years this tilt assembly will fit. Im pretty sure they changed styles in 78. so is this a 78 and newer unit, or a pre 78 unit

Your starboard transom bracket is designed to accept the tilt motor assembly. It looks like it should fit the 1977 70hp engine.

This is a picture of my 1977 70hp Evinrude 'Tilt only'. Factory install, I think :)

Yes ------but the pictures in post # 1 are of a cylinder in the center of the transom brackets.
