70's 2 stroke shift handle removal

These typical plastic shift handles break now and then. I removed the nut, but where do I go from there? It seems to be stuck on there.

If the grip is still on the handle you have to pry it off. Then there's a split pin through the side of the handle that holds it onto the shaft.
