71 Chrysler 120! Do I need to Worry?

I was in the process of replacing the drive shaft bearing when I saw this hole. I'm pretty sure its not suppose to be there, would I be fine just filling with JB Weld? The hole isn't all the way through just a cavity.

Yea fill it. JB or even silicone?
Try to clean it up,grind it out?

DON'T FILL IT! It belongs there! Are you sure it is not all the way through? That is the VENT hole. Remove the top vent screw and probe it: you will see.

When you replace the top drive shaft seal, be certain not to drive it far enough down to block the hole.

BTW: he other three water pump mounting screw holes can be drilled and tapped deeper if you should strip them but because this passage is directly below the fourth bolt hole, it can not be drilled and tapped deeper.

If I would have looked on the side I would have seen the vent screw. Thanks Frank
