Water for cooling comes up the leg into the center of the match plate. A cast in tube connects from the center of the match plate to the water inlet at the exhaust chest. The plug seals the cast in tube. IF--If you can get the plug out, you can insert a pressure gauge or a pisser. It is aluminum so it also can easily be drilled and tapped for a pressure sender. Personally, I have NEVER been able to remove that plug although some people here on the forum have been able to do so.
