'71 Evinrude 100hp Stops&Starts at 3/4 Throttle

My '71 evinrude 100hp (electric shift) dies when throttle is advanced to about 3/4 open, then picks right back up again. Other than this, no problems. I was thinking fuel starvation or coil is shot. Any suggestions?<br />Model# 100193A<br />Serial# E04009<br />thanks,<br />Nuke

Is your throttle linkage moving smoothly?<br /><br />Watch under the hood when you advance the throttle. The advance linkage should move smoothly.
