This motor was in storage for many years and it ran occasionally. After taking it out of storage, I took off and cleaned the carb , cleaned the points and was finally able to get it running however I don't know if I got the throttle linkage correct connecting the carb. I tried adjusting it some and now I cannot get it to start again. I think part of the problem is fuel mixture and part adjusting the linkage. I get plenty of fuel and spark in both cylinders but I just can't seem to get it running. Can someone suggest a good starting place to set the carb? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks

Hi
I think you need to start with a manual. I'm not convinced you properly time and gapped the points..........and you need to do that before you go further.
Also you will need to check that you not only have spark....but enough to fire under compression. Your igntion system should be cable of firing across about 1/2" gap if it's healthy.
The manual will also have the proper way to line up your fuel and throttle sync. Usually there is a make on the throttle cam and you set it on the throttle pickup roller according to the manuals spec. Sometimes its just before and sometimes it is center.

You will also need to check and make sure you set the intial settings on your carbs correctly
Hope this helps.
