The system you have is not an easy one for a beginner. You are dealing with components that can get very expensive, and difficult to test without proper equipment. Going down the list, you have an anti-reverse spring, ignition sensor, clipper circuit, pulse pak, Ign. coil, key switch. Any one can stop this system cold. By the way, that system does'nt like low batteries either.

thanks for response R. Johnson i did in fact go out yesterday and buy a new battery 1,000 cranking amps and still nothing. just cant figure out what else the problem could be, everything electrical has been replaced or in working condition. im just wondering now that when the past owner had it and hooked the ignition wrong and then hooked it the right way if something didnt happen there. could it of done damage when hooked wrong and they were trying to start it?

do you know where the anti-reverse spring is on the motor?

It's a friction spring that slips around the crankshaft, under the timer base.
