I actually ended up with Loctite 518 "Flange Sealant/Gasket Eliminator" as suggested by another post. I read in my manual that I should use sealer on the gear housing to impeller plate. Then according to the rest of the instructions i do not need anymore sealer. Except on the impeller housing screws....it recommends OMC gasket sealing compound. Can I use my loctite 518 "Flange Sealant/Gasket Eliminator" on these? Or should I use some Loctite 242 "Threadlocker"?

Thanks A LOT for your help. Want to get out on the lake tomorrow.

You'll want to remove those screws someday. Simply coat them with a thin coat of grease. They won't come loose... trust me.

Ya, thanks.....I was going to use the blue loctite....not the red. Anyways I put it back together using the 518 Loctite. Doesn't look like I will get out today.....maybe a test fire in the bucket and then to the lake this week sometime.

FYI: I only used the sealer between the impeller plate and the gear housing/flange. I almost forgot to check that the water tube hit the water pump outlet on reinstall....well, actually I did forget for a minute or two.....dropped the gearcase a bit and realized it had missed.......lucky I remembered to check.....DOH!

First timer.....I hope I done good.
