72, 50hp Evinrude Lower Unit Replacement

I an looking for a replacement lower unit for a 1972 Evinrude, 50hp, Model 50372R, S/N E0001284.<br /><br />Would like to find a complete lower unit in good shape, but would consider a case only. The one my friend has is cracked, but was still running.

you can change that to a 74 manul shift if you can find one .you will need the plate behind the carbs to mount the 2 cables . the eletric shift onley has 1 cable. after rereading your post yours is a manul shift i think . but they will interchange for several years .
