72 65 hp triumph needs a tach

I have a 1972 evinrude 65 hp triumph model 65273S. I'm looking to get a tach too mount in or on the dash. My question is all the tachs I have seen says for a 6-8 or 12 pole. which one do I need for this outboard?

Hello! I know this is an old post, but I have the same exact question. I also have a 1972 Evinrude Triumph 65 hp model #65273S, and I would like to install a tachometer (preferably on in the dash), but I know nothing about this. How can I find out what tach would fit my motor, and how to go about installing one? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Shameless bump....

Can anyone help me determine what kind of tachometer I can add to my motor? I'm sorry if this is a super simple question, but I just don't know where to begin, except that I know I'd like to have a tach. I have a 1972 Evinrude Triumph 65 hp, model #65273S. I'd be very grateful to anyone who can help me with this!
