I posted my last thread because my motor would click instead of starting and I was advised to replace the solenoid. I did that last night and guess what?? The motor is still clicking (does not engage starter). I do have a fully charged battery and I'm not sure where to go from here. Does anyone have any suggestions before I bring it to the dealer?? There is an electrical component above the solenoid but I am not sure if it replacing that would be the next step. The motor was starting great up until last weekend.

Please help!! I want to get on to the water!!

you could buy a manual and follow all the troubleshooting tips and do the suggested tests contained within,
that would probably stop drongos...like me, fer instance.. suggesting that you clean all the terminals/connections/earths etc etc etc with emery paper, as well as posting what fixed the 'same' problem with their motor

did you do that?

STILL sounds solenoid related, leads all in the right place?
frustratin' beasties they are at times,
cheers

selenoid is GOOD if it clicks.ceck and clean the starter connections.try to spin starter by hand or pliers while tapping the housing(dissconect battery doing that).the idea here is to loosen the rust that had formed between brushes and armature.see if it helps.you could do maintenace on it to to prevent future trouble.just a good clean up inside starter.it is a easy task.to hold the springs use sheet of carboard to hold brushes and springs down when you put it back togethar.thin coat of oil wont hurt.cleaning is cheeper than spending 100 on new starter

Starter is the problem. Is the bendix gear stuck into the flywheel? Removing the starter from the motor and place in a bench vise then conect battery cables to the starter in corect positions will tell if you need a new starter. Easy test and don't cost nothing.
