72 6hp: Just changed points etc. Where's that pill of lube go?

Just replaced points, coil, condensers on a 72 6hp seahorse. The points came with a little clear capsule of lube. The wick is already oiled, so where's the lube go? My manual says to use OMC sealube on the crankcase pilot boss for the stator plate. Is that the floating plate that the stator plate anchors too? Is this where I use the lube?

By the way, is it possible for the wick to be too long? It is much longer than the latter (Maybe 1 1/4" sticking out?). Sound OK?

Thanks in advance.

Matt.

That clear capsule of lube is for luybricating the felt wick (if needed). The wick should be just long enough to ride against the cam.
