Re: '72 evinrude 65hp lubing swivel joints

I want to lube the swivel joints on my old evinrude motor. I understand the modern replacement for OMC "type a" lubricant is Triple Guard. I have some of this marine grease on hand:

Can I use that instead or is there something special about the Triple Guard stuff?

Triple Guard is great stuff, but that is not to say the Lubrimatic isn't. Actually, most anything is beter than the old OMC Type A. I say that in hind-sight. I sold lots of it when it was on the market. But nowadays there is much better stuff available.

Okay, thanks F_R.

What about the linkages on the powerhead? Seems like I should use something thinner on them, like 3 in 1 oil or something.
