Im new to iboats and posted earlier about my 120 alum tank, thanks for the feedback. Im gonna give tankrenu a try. My 72' is set up with the original omc i/o. the engine and outdrive have been rebuilt and are in great mechanical condition. the set up is oldschool, the engine is lag bolted to the stringers, above that are spacer blocks. the front engine mounts(closest to the bow) are under hydrolic lifts that go up and down to adjust the trim of the engine and outdrive. the engine is the v8 350, either 225 or 240 hp and I think the outdrive is the largest model of the three for that year. I got lucky with the stringers, when I bought the boat they were stripped, the engine cavitation loosened. No one noticed and overtime they became bent. at some point the previous owner discovered the problemand tried to tighten the lags, but the lags just stripped the holes more. the wood around the holes was still in pretty good condition so I began repair. 1) penetrating epoxy 2) let dry 3) pound into the holes hard wood dowels with westsystems epoxy. I love the boat and want to get it up to its full potential, but I also know that the power set up will be prone to problems. So does anyone have troubleshooting advice.
