72 johnson 25hp water out?

in the river on the weekend, lots of water was coming out through the exhaust spout, but also from the 2 holes on the opposite side of the housing and just below. is this normal or is there a problem?<br /> tim

Hi Logon<br />Sounds ok to me. As long as the motor dosen't over heat should be fine.

I have had the same problem....Turned out to be loose bolts on the indicator for the water pump leaking down into the housing.<br /><br />A little locktite and a wrench cured that problem.<br /><br />PCG

could this be why i can seem to seal the gear box? i have torn it apart 3 times and still milk. i was going to drop the leg tonight.
