My Seloc manual on "Belt timing" seems to differ w/ reference marks on my engine. can anyone tell me exactly which marks on the flywheel... i have three dots on the flywheel and a " ***" on the dist. pulley and a "***' on the dist. base... is this the correct marks to line up. At 800 rpm my timing light shows about 10 degrees ATDC and increasing engine rpm I can't even get to the 5-7 degrees BTDC like the manual asks for

Take the cap off the dist pulley by removing the small cap screw in the center. You'll see an arrow there. Rotate the flywheel clockwise until the arrow lines up with the three dots. If they won't line up, slip the belt off the distributer pulley, and rotate the pulley enough to line them up. Put the belt back on.

The nibs on the base of the pulley happen to line up with the factory 2° BTDC setting. I'm told they were there to assist with the quick-assembly at the factory.
