Rebuilt carbs. Rebuilt pumps. Pumps still don't work. Replaced with electric pump and tee to bypass all fuel pumps. Re set timing. Was two teeth off. I think retarted. Did start cold before. Now will not start without a little gas down the carbs. Starts and runs beautiful after warmed up. Any ideas??

I think that's what I'm going to do. Since I have a electric pump. Couldn't I just get rid of the bulb?

Electric fuel pumps are dangerous to use, unless you find a way to wire them to shut off, if the engine stalls. If you wire them to the ign, and the fuel line springs a leak, the boat will be filled with fuel.

Your mechanical fuel pumps will do the job. I presume you have dual fuel pumps? Make sure the gaskets are good, the check valves are good and the diaghrams are good, and they are tight to the transfer covers. The fuel lines for those are NLA. Are your fuel lines to the carbs in good shape?

I have a old 1150 also. Mine wouldn't start unless you squirted gas into the carbs and found that the rubber isolators that hold the frame up around the engine were worn out. the choke solenoid is mounted on the frame so the chokes would not shut all the way. after i replaced the isolators the cohoke plates would shut like they are supposed to and now it starts right up. You shouldn' have any problems with your electric fuel pump as long as it is a low pressure and is hooked up to the ignition system. Yes you can get rid of the bulb with an electric pump

I have a switch on my center console next to my key and such. Its a 3psi pump. If the motor dies I kill the pump. No problems there. I'll check the chokes again. And I think I'll replace all the fuel lines till the tee. The ones on the motor seem fine. Nothing is moist or anything. I've replaced all the parts in the mechanical pumps an they don't work. I don't want to be stranded on a lake because of it. I like my electric pump and my manual switch.
