Welcome to iboats.<br /><br />New stators or used? Age is as much a factor as wear and tear in older parts. Even if they've been sitting on a shelf for that long. Mostly, leaks develop between the aging and shrinking potting and the metal. Then it corrodes inside when moisture invades.
