Would not go into forward with lower off. Removed cables from shift plate, control went forward and back with ease. Tried turning foot to forward position, but it is stuck in a neutral / reverse position. Any advice???
still fiddling with this... don't know where it is stuck. seems to be somewhere between the cable from the shift plate to the foot. anyone ever heard of the components above the foor in the upper getting jammed somehow?
If you overheated just prior to this happening (Yes-No) the shift cable was fused from the exaust manifold heat. 2 ways to remove drive witch must be in fwd. remove lower unit first, then upper.
cut cable at shift boot and manually move shoe into fwd.remove drive
It did over heat, i lost my water shutter at that time as well.. I follow you as far as removing lower and upper and cutting cable at boot. what do you mean remove drive after that?
