can anyone tell me what the black\yellow wire on my "new" selectric remote control goes to, or what purpose does it serve. (1972 85 hp engine)

i bought this control with a chopped off cannon plug thinking it was for a black plug harness. maybe it was for the yellow plug?

this control has a different wiring setup than my black plugged engine. there is a black wire with a yellow stripe coming off of the key switch. it has its own post on the switch but i can not match it up on my seloc wiring diagram.
when i compare wiring from the remote's harness to the engine's harness, this black\yellow wire is the only wire that does not have a mate.

i am about ready to solder/splice the wires together for a complete harness, i just need to know where this wire goes.
thanks in advance for the help

The black/yellow wire is the kill wire.

This may help.
