'73 115 hp merc inline 6 trim tab removal

What is the trick to removing trim tab to get to nut to remove lower unit? I have been searching for an hour (internet only hooks up at 26k) and haven't found anything.

The screw for the trim tab come from the top side of the LU, directly above the trim tab. Possibley will be a cover over the hole that the screw in nestled into.

I can put away the sledge hammer and crow bar now.(just kidding).
It came right off.

be carefull tightening it back up. I pulled the center right out of my zinc. Didnt think I was pulling it that tight either...............Jerry
