I'm lookin to get the flywheel off to do some parts swap and cleaning. Can I use a harmonic balancer puller or do I have to get the OMC puller? I just don't want to spend 75 bucks on something I'm only going to use a few times. I have read through a few posts and it seems like I can if I use some grade 8 bolts but still not really sure.

Money is a little tight and just wanna do this the cheapest way I can.

Thanks for the help.

harmonic balancer puller, you have to use grade 8 hardened bolts, ace hardware has them. if not a regular hardware store bolt, will strip the thread in the flywheel. tighten the puller, then tighten some more. let it sit with tension. rap the head of the center bolt with a hammer, tighten some more. eventually it will pop, and come off. reinstalling all surfaces must be clean and free of any oil. and you MUST torque to the specified amount, or you will be doing it again, as the woodruff key will shear.
