This motor has set for 10 years so I am replacing the impellor.

However, here is my issue. In looking at the Seloc manual, it references "An improved water pump". The manual then says "It is strongly recommended to replace the water pump with the improved model while the lower unit is disassembled (that is assuming it was not already done considering the age of the unit). The new pump must be assembled before it is installed." I would just asoon use the existing housing if advisable but I have not pulled it yet to look at condition so....

The impellor I bought from Iboats.com part# 18-3082appears to come with no other associated seals or O-rings and I can't find a kit for this which would include them. However, the manual says to make sure to replace seals and O-rings in the pump. The kits listed (online at various sites) do not include 73' 65hp as compatible. I am guessing one of them will work, but I just can't find a cross reference or parts list to tell me which one.
I have the same problem for locating a part number for the upgraded pump (housing).

I hope someone can point me in a direction.

385447 is the complete water pump kit which includes the new housing and everything else that is needed. You get it from a Johnson or Evinrude dealer. For once I agree with the Seloc book. Take a look--it might have already been updated.
