good evening everybody...hope its been a good week.customer comes in with the complaint of skipping popping generally eratic running..basic checks show good compression,fire on all 4,(at cranking speed)clean fuel...engine starts,release starter,dies...funny thing is if i quickly depress the choke over and over it stays running,not good but stays running...not a fuel problem because i can "dust" the carbs with cleaner and it still dies...i have 12v on the white wire with key on...called him to get a little history and found out another mechanic told him it was the trigger(dist. housing)he replaced it himself....my question is if he installed the rotor plate upside down would that cause any or all of these ailments...thank you all in advance for the help.
