Can someone tell me the length shaft on my '73 115 Model 115393M? I'm pretty sure it's a 20 but it would be good to know for sure. I'm looking to replace the motor and have come across a Yamaha with a 25" shaft. The transom on my boat looks like it's 22".

Could I make a 25" work or should I continue looking for a 20"?

Thank you for your help!

Measure the transom from the top lip to the bottom of the hull. That will give you the length you need.

You could make the Yamaha work but it would be to much trouble and $$$$. Look for the proper length shaft mtr.

If you own a ruler measure the shaft length. With the motor trimmed straight down, measure from the transom bracket to the AV plate. 15" = short, 20" = long and 25" = extra long.
