As above at higher revs the pee hole stops ejecting water and the engine fluctuates. Have stripped water pump and all is ok with plenty of life left in it (although there was a lot of salt in there), also flushed hose pipe up the water feed pipe and water freely runs out of the pee hole and the exhaust tube.
Is it likely the heads are blocked with salt? Is there a way of flushing them without removing them?
Many thanks
James

some of us have lives :) .... i personaly cant think of anything without removing the heads or running lots of fresh water through the motor

at what rpms are you experincing this problem? is your motor raises. is your cavitation plate paralel or close to the keel? do youhave a water pressure gauge?

salt or a little bit of salt is not good... i would recomend flushing the motor after every use to clean any salt or any other deposits....

good luck

Haha, unfortunately CountVlad, I don't have a life :D
Not sure what RPMs this happens think it is more related to time rather than revs.
No water pressure gauge, no rev counter, cavitation plate is ok and not too close to keel.
So looks like the problem might not be a problem? As in water must be circulating around the engine?
Oh, plus this was the first outing, only just bought the boat.

if you just bought the boat is not a bad idea to change the thermostats, impeller, carb tuning/rebuild....

we need to know the simptoms we cant just guess whats going on with the motor... so from what i gather this happends while in the water not muffs, correct? if on muffs then theres probably not enough water pressure....

if on the water even though the impeller "looks good" doesnt mean is good... its not a bad idea to replace it.....

also follow the tell tale("pee hole") hose/s and see where they go... on my motor one goes somewhere around the throttle and the other, now water pressure line, used to go somewhere on top of the motor...
try to remove and clean the lines... see how they look like ... clean the tell tale
