73 merc 850 thunderbolt choke spring help

I have a 1973 Mercury 850 Thunderbolt I rebuilt carbs and now can't remember where choke rod spring connects I have one end connected. My repair manual is of no use pics are black and white and not good quality. Here is a pic of the spring if any one had a comleted pic of it I would be greatful. Thanks..Larry

This is a little harder to explain than I thought but I will give it a try.Number one the spring part as you have it right now is wrong.You need to take it off and put the eye (hook) on where you have it now.The spring part needs to be free to move.The other end will go to the lever/choke shutter.I am adding a pic but kinda hard to tell,but with a little fiddling you'll get it

Thanks Gomer that helped alot its installled properly now and everything is working great.
