73 Merc Coil and Plug wire removal???

Hey.. I've tried to remove the plug wires from the coil and the distributor cap on my 73 850.

I been told they were screwed in under the cap but I can't see that. I was out on another website lookin at parts and noticed a "Ring Lock" in their distributor parts n pieces. I will try to see if this is the case tonight. But I'd like to get some input from other ppl who have the motor.

The wire plugs into the coil and is screwed into the cap, use needle nose pliers close to the coil terminal and pull straight out. Then you should be able to unscrew the cap wire.All the plug wires screw into the cap too.
