I am considering buying on of these that have been remanufactured.
They claim these engines have the best power to weight ratio of any outboard.
This would be my main reason if it is true.
Also, these engines are simple.
If it's done right, what other considerations or concerns would one have?

My opinion is somewhat biased as I play with these engines all the time. They are indeed the best power to weight ratio around. I would not call them simple per se, as they do required some special skills and tools to repair them. Having said that, there are 40 year old engines out there that are still running like new. As far as re manufactured engines go, there are only a few folks around that know what they are doing when they rebuild these for sale. So I am going to have to say it depends on who rebuilt it, what kind of warranty they offer.

Great motor if properly rebuilt, as daves said only a few know how to rebuild the right way...clamscanino on this site (CCMarine on ebay) has an incredible amount of knowledge and experience with these engines, he has rebuilt motors and powerheads for sale I believe

Forgive me for sounding ignorant, however, I am unsure as to who ccmarine is. Are you talking about a website? Or is this a member name? Does this person have a website? If not, please direct me to ccmarine.
thanks,
Mike

His name is wayne canino...His company name is C.C. Marine...phone number is 846-287-2638...try cc-marine@earthlink.net...Fortunately i live somewhat close to him and was able to go meet him and talk with him before i made a decision on who would rebuild my motor...After meeting and talking with him, i knew he was the right guy for the job, he is "The Wizard" with these motors...!
