I'm totally new to any kind of boat restoration and what not. I have some ideas, have owned this boat for 10 plus years and want to make it look great and be sound. For starters, i ran into a great deal on teak at a salvage yard and have a lot of it to implement in my designs. I want to use 1/4" x 1 3/4" teak batting to cover my existing deck, which is in good shape, but has nasty old brown carpet on it now. I need some advice on prepping the deck and fastening the teak batting.

Next, the right side of my dash is rotted due to water intrusion from the windshield. I need to cut this out and replace it from the bottom, i guess. the glass on top is fine.

There is a compartment in the center of the cabin that was holding 5 to 6 inches of water this summer from the windshield leak (boat was stored outside). some of the glass is cracked and its a mess. I want to properly fix this and build in some custom storage.

Finally, the stringers are fine, but last year when i mounted a transducer on the stern, some water came out of the lower part of the transom when i drilled it. How do I check the transom to see if it is damaged?

I have tons of pictures, let me know what you want to see to get me started.

Here are a couple pictures of the water damage in the compartment in the cuddy. What steps do i start with to go about repairing this area?

Here is a picture of the water damaged dash. It is rotten from the compass hole back. Same as above. What's the procedure for starting the repair process. I'd guess cutting out all the damage is step 1. I'll need some help from there.

Ok, Here are some pics of the Deck and Stringers

This is the front half of the deck. No issues I can see or find

Back half of deck. Needs some stiffening reinforcement along edge of motor well, but the wood is not rotten, just hangs over the stringer a long way unsupported and needs to be beefed up.

Port side back deck. In good shape. Wall along back rotted and is now removed. Deck in good shape except needs reinforcement along engine well edge.

Starboard side back deck. Same as port side.

Port Transom looks and feels sound

Port Stringer to Transom. Black markings are oil, not mold. Looks and feels sound.

Re: 73 slickcraft - needs help

Here is a picture of all the teak i salvaged last summer. My plan is to use the 1/4" batting in a plank configuration over the existing deck. One of my main questions is how do i seal all the existing screw holes in the deck and then how to fasten the batting? Should i screw it down or use an adhesive or both?

seal existing holes with marine silicone or fiberglass. I would srew down the wood in case of future need to get at something, others will have a better opinion on that though.
