I have an old 21' starcraft cc that is leaking. there are two areas of concern...the first is at the bow just under the waterline. there is about a four inch crack here directly in the center of the hull that has been previously repaired with some sort of 2 part epoxy (like a pc-11 or something similar) but has started to leak again. I feel the easiest fix here would be to have it welded. because its such a fine crack i'd think a thin bead done with a tig welder would be the best option.
the other leak is towards the stern along the keel line of the boat. from what i gather here this cant be welded because there is some sort of a gasket along this seam? i'm at a loss for other options...i've used gluvit on other tin boats in the past but i'm not sure that it would handle the amount of water coming in here and after removing the deck is is evident that gluvit was used in that area in the past but has since become brittle.
Any suggestions or input guys?
