74 70hp johnson Tach wire location?

I just picked up a 74 70hp Johnson. I have the old tach in my boat and wondering where the signal wire hooks up on the outboard wires/board? the tach post says signal<br />Thanks for the info.<br />Happy boating<br />Scott

Hi ya' Tin Can....<br /><br />On OMC (now Bombardier) engines, the tach wire is the gray wire in the wire harness. Connect the gray wire to the "Signal" post on the tach. It should be in the harness that goes up towards the dash. Most likely it will be "Taped" off.
