Sounds like fuel delivery. Wonder if your fuel pump element cratered, or you had a flapper valve fail under the fuel inlet? I've read that the o-rings in the fuel line connections can fail, letting air get sucked into the line instead of fuel, and cracks in old fuel line can do that, too. My neighbor has a '68 Eska 3.5hp, and he has some squirrelly gray plastic lookin' fuel line that doesn't even look like it for fuel. It cracked and screwed with him the same way - I finally told him I could no longer be confident that I would not stab that line repeatedly the next time I saw it.

yeah, i didnt know it had something like that in tank, ill check that first light tomorrow, was kinda leaning towards ignition, just because it seemed to run fine until warmed up... at about 60% throttle it will start to miss out in the first few good minutes of running, then past the 60% or start range it will just hum..then warm up and then it will start to so in and out then just stall

I know this type of ignition coil can fail that way - fine till it heats up, then starts crapping out. I jump on fuel delivery, because its a much more common problem area, and you note that after it ran 10 minutes, it only started with some choke. The fuel pump element is not in the tank - if you pull the carb off and look at the mating face, you'll see the round end of the red pump element with a slot in it. snatch that sucker out of there, get a magnifying glass, and roll it between your fingers while you look for tears or splitting. I had the idea that when it started running bad, it stayed bad. If it acts right when it's cold, and goes to crap, then ya gotta wonder if it isn't the coil. Does that motor have points, or is it a solid state ignition?
