74' glastron keel repair, pics inside

Hi i just recently purchased this boat and it looks like it is in pretty good shape except for the center keel. I have included some pics of the boat. I would really like to know exactly how you would repair something like this. I have never owned a fiberglass boat before. it looks to me like it is through the gel-coat to the fiberglass, but not through the fiberglass, any info on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

she really dont look to deep . marine tex will do the trick as long as its not eaten to much glass ?? John

Welcome to Iboats. Looks like mainly surface gelcoat scratches and removal from running the boat up on beaches/shoals. To fix I would sand well to smooth, fair with a thickened resin (polyester based not epoxy based) and then coat with new gel coat. Sand, smooth and polish the gel coat. Pretty straight forward repair. Key thing to note: keep the main repair below the surface of the final gel coat level so that when you place on the new gel coat, it is thick enough while still being even with the surrounding area gel coat.
