I bought this motor knowing that the Stop Switch wasn't connected. The switch was in place, but no wiring. I bought the SELOC manual for the motor, but it doesn't show any diagram for this motor. Every diagram/photo looks different than my motor. Is there anybody out there who can tell me how to wire this switch? It has a single threaded post with a nut on the end which is insulated from the rest of the switch body. The outside of switch body is threaded and is about 3/4" Dia. with a large nut securing it to the motor wall.
What gague wire would be best for this? I would appreciate any info. At present I choke the motor to turn it off. That can't be good in the long run.

I have a 1979 110. One wire gets grounded directly to the engine block via any existing screw. The other wire gets connected to the stator terminal which is located just below the fly wheel on the back half of the motor on the same side as the shift lever and shut off button. There will be two other wires connected to that screw terminal (one going to the switch box and the other going to the stator under the fly wheel).

Hey dennyb123, thanks for the info.:D Please forgive my lack of perception, but your answer brings up other questions in me. This kill switch has only one threaded post with a nut on it. You mention one wire being the ground and the second wire going to the stator terminal, do both of those wires get connected to that one threaded post????

I've located pictures, from Google & Ebay, for this motor that show the kill switch. All the pics show a single wire going from the threaded post on the switch, covered by a rubber insulating boot, up to and under the flywheel like you said, but I'm guessing that the other wire (ground wire), which isn't visible in any of the pics, is there?????? OR is there really just one wire connected to the switch for this model. Could the switch body, which is mounted into the wall of the bottom cowl, be the ground connection and when the switch button is pushed it creates the ground contact????

If you have any further thoughts about this I'd be grateful to hear them.:)

My stop switch has two wires coming from it. Your button may be grounded already in the hole in which it is mounted (if its metal). Therefore that could be why there is only one wire. If this is the case then the wire on yours would go to the stator terminal under the fly wheel.
