Hi all,

I just picked up a 74 500.

I have controls with it but I have no place to lock the barrels on the cables into place. Can someone post a picture of how your control cables are hooked up on a 70s 500?

Thank you.

There is a simple clamping device that snaps over to lock those barrels in place.----It is so simple that it is confusing and often broken by a novice.----Post some pictures to see if it is there, intact or broken.

There is nothing there at all, that is why I would like to see pics of what is supposed to be there. I can attach the control rods to the shift and throttle arms but there is absolutely nothing to attach the barrels to.

Here is a pic of where the cables enter the motor compartment and you can see where the throttle control connects, the shifter is under it. There is no where to lock the barrels into place.

Look under the bottom carburetor for 2 pins that go into those barrels to lock them in place.------Or post another 6 pictures to help identify this for you.

I would gladly give you 6 more pics but someone that was actually helpful, looked at it and determined the pints had been broken off at some point.

MOD EDIT - Attitude, Buddy - Keep it in check
