The motor was running poorly with classic poor ignition symptoms so I started by pulling the flywheel to check points, etc. I regapped one of the points, cleaned everything up with electronic cleaner & reassembled only to find the engine wouldn't run at all. No spark in either cylinder. I disassembled and went over the system with my multi meter following the directions on the Fluke website refered to here only to find both ignition coils with infinite resistance to ground indicating a total burn out. The points & condensers checked out OK. Could I have caused this when I disassembled? I would have expected one to go bad but both? Any ideas or similar experiences? Thanks in advance.
