'75 6hp rough running/bogging under load

Just bought this 6hp motor.

Runs rough, especially under load, actually it bogs under load and can never get full power.

Fuel pump screen is clean.

Replaced the spark plugs, condensers and points with NO EFFECT. Carb looks brand new.

When I replaced the condensors/points I noticed that the coil casing were cracked.

Would this have an effect or should I now be chasing a fuel delivery?

Those cracked coils have got to go! Thankfully, they aren't really expensive and they are fairly easy to install. Great motor you have there! Worth every bit of your efforts to fix it.

Thanks for that... I paid very little for this also.. using it on my Grumman 16' pack boat

Have you checked compression and spark?
