I've got a blueline 1974 model 75, 7,5 HP, Comet serial 3934723 which should be a 1974. Is has a black "powerpack" and two red coils on top of powerhead. 1: Will it have breakerpoints ?
I have a 9.8 "Lightning" powerhead too, same era ?.
2: Are there any numbers om powerhead to determin vintage ?
3: Where does the extra 2,3 Hp come from, looks like same powerhead.

You will not have points on your version with the powerpack.

The diffence in the engines should be the result of a different carb.

As for vintage you will have to find the serial number or a part number that was specific to only that engine.

TMD

Thanks Doctor

I am not sure powerheads are identical, as the 9.8 has forged the name "Ligtning" in the block, and the 7,5 "Comet".

The ports on the 75 are significantly smaller than the 110...
- Scott
