I have two, 2 horse Johnsons that have a problem with the low speed adjustment screws vibrating while the engines are running. Sometimes they vibrate open and other times close. They don't always vibrate in the same direction which prevents me from setting them and "pinning" them to the stop. The vibrations are causing the engines to run either to rich or two lean depending on which way they vibrate. Any ideas how to remedy this situation? I was going to try that white plumber's tape on the threads but don't know it that would work.

Remove the brass jam locking nuts and install 2 packing washers #307583, then reinstall the 2 jam nuts and tighten them to a point where you can adjust the needle valves if need be BUT tight enough whereas they can not viberate loose.

If packing washers are already in place and worn, remove them and install the new ones. If already in place and in good condition, simply tighten the jam nuts.
