75 85 hp mid and lower

Hey. No have two basket case motors that I'm trying to make into one. The 69 80 up has perfect compression but has cracked lower no tilt trim and midsection is seized from sitting. I rebuilt all vaccum and fuel lines and electrical that is rotten. The 85 is really rough. Someone cut the harness off and tried to rewire it but still all messed up. Broken timing belt still carb butterfly's. The 69 is more complete besides lower and midsection but the mid and lower and tilt trim is good on the 75. Everything seem like the blocks are the same and I could swap them and rewire, but is there any thing that could not transfer right?

Shouldn't transfer as the 75 block is a 8 bolt and the 69 is a 10 bolt..mounting and exhaust design different

Ok thanks for the info. I had not taken the lower cowling on the 80 off yet to count the bolts. The blocks look very similar though. I guess I need to check compression on the 85 hp and if transfer all the good parts onto that block. I will be re wiring it with a newer 8pin wiring harness I had from another project since I have a set of controls to match the 8 pin connector.
