'75 85HP Evinrude lifters?

Motor is a '75 85 HP Evinrude. S# J0002803, Model # 85593 E<br />Why is it so difficult to locate parts for older boats/motors. I am looking for 2 motor assist lifters for this motor and a power tilt & trim. Anyone have any suggestions where to find these items? Thanks for the help!

Keep a sharp eye on ebay. There are "aftermarket" T & T units but I understand your dilemma. They are pricey!<br /><br />Bob

It's hard to find good used tilt and trim units. I've heard that corrosion is a real issue, although that would apply mainly to salt water playgrounds. Your best bet for a used unit might be to look for a parts motor with a t. and t. unit. Another '70s V-4 would also obviously give you a ready supply of many other useful parts.<br /><br />Of course, you need a place to store all that stuff....
