So i have a 75' 135 evin. that is running perfect, but i would like to make sure it stays that way, is there a water or block temp. port already on this motor? or a place to put a sensor? if so would u happen to know where?

Re: 75' evin. temp.?

You have a single 105? F. vernatherm/thermostat, and a single overheat temperature switch in the starboard cylinder head. If you add a single temperature gauge, the port cylinder head would be the place to mount it. It would have to be a surface mounted sensor unless you want to have machine work done, which is not necessary.

Adding a tell-tale would be a good place to start. There is a good thread in the Engine FAQ forum on that. If you add a tell-tale, you might also want to add a water pressure gauge. If your exhaust housing has a fitting, you can simply put the connector there, otherwise, I would go to the cylinder head as described in the thread: http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=222677

Hi ezeke, ty for the info, can u tell me what the single overheat temp. switch is intended for? protection?
I have no warning lights and have never heard a warning sound, this motor must not of come with that.....i'll go outside and check for that fitting!

Re: 75' evin. temp.?

The overheat switch is imbedded in the cylinder head, has a tan wire leading to the engine harness, then to a warning horn in the remote control, or at the console.

The tan wire is universal, but it may or may not be connected to anything. Test for the horn by disconnecting the tan wire at the head (there should be a disconnect inside a sleeve that slides up) and grounding the control end of the wire to the block with the ignition key in the run position.

If i hear the horn i guessing that will be good...working at least!
my motor doesn't have the fitting, or a place from the factory to drill one.
That forum that u sent does tell me how to do it, so thanks for the help.
