75 hp stinger fuel prob?

When i slowly throttle up the motor doesnt get any power n starts 2 bog. The only way i can get it 2 move any faster than about 10mph is if i pump the prime ball. Pumpin the primer the boat easily reaches close 2 30. Not sure where 2 start, was told i need new fuel pump?

Very likely your fuel pump needs a rebuild. Also look for a bad diaphragm, leaky fuel lines, etc...

Is there a rebuild kit that i can by or do i have 2 buy a whole new pump?How would i kno if the diaphram is not functionin propoerly? N thanx 4 the reply !

Its a 78 2 stroke.

Here is the part diagram for your fuel pump, Im not sure if you can buy the rebuild kit for it, the whole unit is fairly cheap though. This will show the sequence of the parts for you. Good luck.

sorry wont let me post the whole link, from there go to the top, click Johnson, then GO, then 1978,then your hp, then your model number, then fuel pump.
