75hp evinrude

I'm looking at a bass boat with a 1985 75hp evinrude on it.....i'm not familier with rudes, is this a good motor? other than the obvious is there anything specific i should be aware of with this engine? any comments are appreciated!...thanks........John

Great engine, jd.

They are sensitive to Link 'n' Synch. It must be spot on for best performance.

The battery ground cable is bolted to the steel bypass cover and tends to corrode. Clean that connection annually.

that for the response.... my mistake, it's a 70hp, guess it close to the same....?

Pretty much the same engine, jd. The 70s seemed to be more reliable.
