75hp merc sn 0A994798 WHAT YEAR?

I have recently aquired a mercury that has a cowl thats says 75hp and its on an 86 boat and 86 trailer so this would fit as its a 4 cyl 2 stroke motor but I cant find the 0A994xxx in any parts lists they all start at 0A996 any ideas or links.

i think its an 86 as well but when i popped it into merc parts express, it came up as 150 hp

mmm maybe there could be a sticky thread to link to the mercury / mariner site with a downloadable list of all serial numbers ?
