I am interesting buying a boat with a 75hp merc on it, the serial number of the outboard is A198072. Can any one tell the year???

Thank you kindly,,,,,I now have some ammo to drive the price down on this boat,,,,,the seller was telling me it was a 1996/7 year motor. I wasn't buying that at all, I thought it was older and I was right
