Just ordered a "carb repair kit" form boats.net. Anyone know what is included? Any other parts I should have on hand to rebuild carb or should I pull it apart and look for other warn parts (needle valves, gaskets). I am a novice but giving it a shot. I have read top secret files and awakening sleeping outboard posts.
Thanks

Everything you need is in the kit (except for the float) unless you ordered the kit with a float. There may be a few left over parts but, don't worry about that. Just use the parts you need. You will re-use the needle valve, (unless the tip has been damged) look at the tip with a magnifiying glass to see if it's worn or otherwise smashed. All of the gaskets will be in the kit as well.

A carb kit should have all the parts you need to rebuild your carb.
Just make sure to soak the carb in carb cleaner, and use a wire bread tie to make sure the jets are clean. If you remove the welch plugs, there is a youtube video that shows you how to do that. If you need more advice, just post here and someone is sure to help. "It's not as difficult as you think, the first time is always jittery.......

Thanks guys, I'm sure I'll be posting again. What about the special tools to remove the tiny piece inside the jet. Someone said they used a screw!?

I believe you are talking about the high spped jet. You do need a special "screw driver" to remove it and you can make your own but, don't take it out unless it's damaged somehow. Just be sure it's clean and not plugged up and it'll be fine.
